About Andrew

I started my fundraising consultancy in 2016, after working in senior fundraising roles at World Vision UK, Oxfam GB, and Oxfam International for over 10 years.

I was a “latecomer” to the sector, having spent the first half of my working life in management consultancy and then in senior roles at Abbey National, leaving just after the takeover by Santander.

Since launching my consultancy, I’ve also interimed as Fundraising and Supporter Engagement Director at Christian Aid for 11 months in 2018/19.

My fundraising consultancy is a practical way for me to work out my Christian faith. Most of my work is with faith-based organisations. I also work with non-faith based who are responding to human need, transforming unjust structures in society or safeguarding our planet.

I’m always learning. During 2020, I studied for a Certificate in Philanthropic Psychology with the Institute for Sustainable Philanthropy and was delighted to receive a distinction.

I’m keen to see smaller charities benefit from best-in-class fundraising. I set aside over 10% of my work on a pro-bono basis to support smaller charities. I do this through my Trusteeships, projects initiated by Cranfield Trust and some free training.

As a sole practitioner, I’m a fundraising generalist. There are some areas where I will call upon specialists that I know through Action Planning or through relationships that I’ve built up over many years in the sector. Whether it’s fundraising copywriting, major donor research, CRM expertise or monitoring and evaluation, I can introduce you to recognised experts..
